Jingle to Mingle

 

“Jingle bells jingle bells jingle all the way………Santa Claus is coming along riding on the sleigh hey jingle bells jingle bells jingle all the way”.

This is what comes first to our minds as a response to the word jingle.

When one needs to mingle, he or she has to jingle…….well that’s when the others get to know that you are ready to mingle! Basically this means that you tell the world that you’ve come.

Jingles are short tunes composed for identification purpose. They are used in radio and television advertisements. There many famous jingles like ‘Oh la la la oye o oh la la la le ye o’ the one ‘Kingfisher’ uses as its brand image. ‘Titan’ has a beautiful tune to advertise its products and so does ‘Raymond’. The jingle of ‘Docomo’ attracts attention and what these brands try through these jingles is to put their brand name on top of our mind’s awareness slot.

This definitely happens as we find people humming the jingle tunes more than the songs. It sits in the minds and really takes time to leave. Well whatever the purpose, the tunes are a wonderful piece of art. Music composers are really gifted. Long live music composers!
